| MAIN MENU About the Site |
Welcome to The Devlin Family On-Line. The site is mainly about members of the extended families of McKennas, Devlins, Boyles, O'Reillys and O'Callaghans whose origins are in County Monaghan and South Armagh, in Ireland, and those of the Mackrell, Kane, Moore and Dinsmore families from South Down. The Family Gateway leads to menus of factual information, stories and pictures. The records go back to the last quarter of the eighteenth century. There is other material available which may be of interest. There is information about South Armagh, where I was born and grew up, including the names, meanings and occupants of some of its townlands over the past two centuries. There are some articles from the journals of a local history society, and about County Down and Downpatrick, where we have lived for over 30 years. There are over six hundred and fifty pages of text and tables, and more than one thousand three hundred images and photographs. There is music, song, legends and verse, as well as descriptions and images of interesting places and short biographies of some historical figures of local as well as national interest. For an overview of the whole site visit the Site Map. You can search for specific information anywhere on the site from the "Google" Search facility on the left. For ease of navigation the Menu Bar is repeated at the top of each page. You can, of course, return to any jumping-off point by the use of your browser's BACK button. |
